BATON ROUGE — The LSU Athletics Department invites Tiger fans to spend their post-Thanksgiving holiday cheering on the Tigers at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The weekend action begins Friday with day four of the LSU Invitational that features the LSU men’s basketball team taking on the Centenary Gents at 7 p.m. Fans will receive the 2008-09 trading cards of the basketball team and many of the players will be available after the game to sign autographs.
Saturday’s action begins with the final women’s volleyball match of the 2008 season as the Tigers, the Western Division champions trying to improve their chances at an NCAA post-season bid, host Georgia at 1:30 p.m. It is Kids Day and one youth will be admitted to the match free with the purchase of an adult ticket and the first 300 kids will receive a free hot dog. Following the match Northwestern State meets Troy at 4:30 p.m. and Centenary and Alcorn play at 7 p.m. on Day 5 of the LSU Invitational basketball event.
Sunday concludes with a rare doubleheader for the LSU men’s and women’s basketball teams at the Maravich Center starting at 1 p.m. as Van Chancellor‘s Lady Tigers take on Middle Tennessee State. The day-night doubleheader concludes with the final game of the two-weekend LSU Invitational as LSU hosts Troy at 6 p.m.
Tickets for all the LSU events are available online at LSUsports.net and will be available for basketball games at the upper concourse ticket windows of the Maravich Center. The volleyball tickets for Saturday’s match are sold at the lower ticket windows next to the Southwest Corridor.
