BATON ROUGE — The 15 greatest LSU men’s basketball players are waiting to be selected and basketball fans still have a chance to offer their input before the balloting closes on Sunday.
The fan voting portion of the selection of the LSU All-Century team celebrating the 100th anniversary season of LSU basketball closes at midnight Sunday on LSUsports.net. Balloting will also take place at the Friday night 7 p.m. game between LSU and Centenary and Sunday’s 6 p.m. contest with Troy. Ballots during the games will be available in the Fan Zone on the upper concourse of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
A total of 70-plus players are on the ballot from All-Decade teams selected during SEC pay during the 2007-08 season.
The fan vote makes up 50 percent of the vote for the All-Decade team with the other 50 percent coming from the group vote of the player/historians committee working on the All-Century celebration.
LSU will announce the All-Century team at halftime of the LSU-Arkansas Centennial Game on Jan. 31, 2009.
Tickets for Friday’s LSU-Centenary game start at $5 and are available online at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office and beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the upper concourse ticket windows at the Maravich Center.
