FORT WORTH, Texas — The LSU women’s tennis team will open up play on Thursday in singles and doubles at the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional hosted by TCU.
Sloane Mathis and Kylie Adamek will be competing in the 64-seed qualifying singles draw. Mathis will compete at 9 a.m. against Texas Tech’s Lindsey Holcomb, and Adamek will face Northwestern State’s Daniela Posada at 11:30 a.m. in the first round.
Four Lady Tigers will take part in the 64-seed doubles draw beginning at 3:30 p.m. Nicole Kantor and Whitney Wolf will team up against Texas-San Antonio’s Caroline Dedering and Monika Drabkova. Adamek and Mathis will pair up against Texas A&M Corpus-Christi’s Alexandra Dyckman and Erika Iriate.
LSU’s 11th-ranked duo of Megan Falcon and Mykala Hedberg are listed as the tournament’s No. 3 seed, and they received a bye into the second round that will be played Friday.
“We are excited to compete tomorrow,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “This tournament is filled with great players, so hopefully we will come out and play our best tennis and pick up some wins.”
The singles main draw will begin Friday once all qualifying rounds have been completed.
