BATON ROUGE — After posting a perfect 6-0 record in the annual Collegiate Classic last week, the LSU softball team will host Southeastern Louisiana in a nine-inning contest at 5 p.m. on Wednesday to close out the fall schedule at the original Tiger Park. Admission is free.
The game against the Lady Lions will serve as the final opportunity for LSU’s 10 freshmen to gain playing experience before the regular season in the spring.
All 10 freshmen competed in the Collegiate Classic and everyone will see action against Southeastern.
“We are excited about another opportunity to play,” LSU head coach Yvette Girouard said. “There were a lot of good things we saw from this very young team over the weekend, and we have had one day to clear up some mistakes. Hopefully we can build on our performance from the tournament and give everybody another opportunity to perform under a little bit of pressure.”
The game against Southeastern will be the final time the original Tiger Park hosts a contest as LSU will move into the new Tiger Park to open the 2009 season.
