BATON ROUGE — Several members of the LSU softball team took part in the Sacred Heart Fall Fest on Friday, helping out in the baseball/softball throw station at the local school’s annual event.

“We have a motto in our program that we always want to leave things better than we found them,” LSU softball head coach Yvette Girouard said. “We always ask the community to support Tiger Softball, and we understand that we need to do our part to help make the community a better place for us all to live.”

The theme for the festival was “A Day at the Movies,” and all faculty, students and their families were invited.

Activities included bungee run, inflatable slides, a dunking booth, silly string, spacewalks, face painting, and several additional games. The LSU softball team had a station set up decorated in purple and gold. Each child had the opportunity to throw a baseball or softball and have his or her speed clocked with a radar gun by an LSU softball team member.
