BATON ROUGE — For the second-straight week, an LSU softball player was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week as senior Quinlan Duhon earned the final weekly honor of the season, it was announced by the league office on Monday.
The Youngsville native led LSU to a 3-1 record last week, securing the third seed in the SEC Tournament at Tiger Park this week and a second place finish in the SEC Western Division. Duhon led the Tigers at the plate with a .467 average and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Last week, sophomore Rachel Mitchell picked up the weekly honor.
In four games, the outfielder recorded two doubles and two home runs while adding nine RBIs. Recording a hit in all four games, she extended her hitting streak to nine-straight games, tying the longest streak in her career and the longest current streak on the team. In the series finale against the Gamecocks, Duhon went 3-for-3 with a walk, tying her career high for hits in a game.
In the three-game South Carolina series, she had a pair of four-RBI games. In the Tigers’ first win over the Gamecocks, she accounted for four of LSU’s five runs. In the finale, she either scored or knocked in six of the Tigers’ nine runs. With nine RBIs for the week, she moved into eighth place in career RBIs in LSU history.
Adding two home runs for the week moved her into sole possession of third place in career home runs in Tiger softball history. Her two doubles also pushed her into the top 10 in career doubles. For the season, she ranks third on the team with a .324 batting average, including 10 doubles, nine home runs and 32 RBIs. She ranks second on the team with a .372 average in SEC play with five doubles, a team-leading seven home runs and 21 RBIs.

The three-day single-elimination tournament will determine the league’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
