BATON ROUGE — The week off didn’t have any affect on LSU’s standing in the Bowl Championship Series as the Tigers came in at No. 3 in this week’s edition of the BCS, which was released on Sunday.
LSU returns to action on Saturday, traveling to face 17th-ranked Alabama. LSU goes into the Alabama game with a 7-1 overall mark, while the Crimson Tide stands at 6-2. Both teams are 4-1 in league play.
Ohio State is No. 1 in the BCS with a .9756 average, followed by Boston College at No. 2 with a .9559 average. LSU holds the No. 3 spot with a .8879 average. Arizona State (.8493 average) and Oregon (.8390) round out the top five in the BCS Standings.
Other Southeastern Conference teams in the BCS Standings this week include Georgia at No. 10 with a .5820 average, Auburn at No. 16 with a .3296 average, Alabama at No. 17 with a .3251 average and Florida at No. 20 with a .3146 average.
In this week’s polls, LSU remained at No. 3 in all three major rankings ? Associated Press, Harris Interactive and USA Today Coaches Poll. The Tigers trail top-ranked Ohio State and Boston College in all three polls.
