BATON ROUGE — The LSU Tigers are ranked for the 16th consecutive week in the national basketball polls announced on Monday afternoon.
LSU, ranked in the five polls of 2006, was ranked for the 11th straight week in 2006-07, dropping from 13-to-16 in the Associated Press poll and from 18-to-19 in the ESPN/USA Today poll.
The Tigers were 1-1 last week, dropping a game Wednesday at Alabama (now ranked 10th in AP poll) and winning Saturday at home against Auburn to run its unbeaten streak in SEC home games to 18.
Florida is now the No. 1 team in both polls with Wisconsin and UCLA 2-3 in the AP poll and reversed in the ESPN/USA Today poll. Alabama is 10th in AP and 9th in the ESPN poll with Tennessee ranked 22 (AP) and 24th (ESPN/USA Today). Kentucky returned to the polls in the 25th spot in the AP poll.
LSU puts its 18-game home conference-winning streak on the line again Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against Ole Miss at the Maravich Assembly Center. There is no live TV for the game that will be seen on tape delay at 10 p.m. CST.
