BATON ROUGE — The next meeting of the LSU Baseball Coaches Committee is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in Alex Box Stadium. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the program will begin at 7 p.m.
The meeting will feature the first-year coach Paul Mainieri and his staff, along with members of the Fighting Tigers squad.
Wednesday’s special guest speaker is Chicago Cubs infielder and Baton Rouge native Ryan Theriot, a 2001 all-SEC shortstop at LSU.
Local umpires will also attend the meeting to discuss baseball rules and answer questions from Coaches Committee members.
Coaches Committee members are encouraged to bring prospective members to Wednesday’s meeting. Membership applications will be available for all fans wishing to join the organization.
The Coaches Committee has served as the baseball program’s fund-raising organization since 1983. Coaches Committee funds have assisted the athletics department in purchasing equipment and making numerous improvements to Alex Box Stadium.
