Men’s Tennis Players Advance to Finals in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. — LSU men’s tennis had one singles player and one doubles team advance to their respective finals at the Ragin’ Cajun Classic on Saturday.

Danny Bryan advanced to the finals of the red singles bracket and Eric DeRoche and Kevin Dessauer advanced to the finals of the doubles bracket.

“Danny did a good job of staying with his opponent and taking advantage of his mistakes,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “Kevin and Eric did a good job of keeping their momentum going throughout the day. I am proud of our guys performance today.”

Bryan picked up his team high 10th win of the season as he knocked off Dusan Tabak of Louisiana-Lafayette in the semifinals. Bryan will now face Piotr Banas in the finals at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

DeRoche and Campbell outlasted Southeastern’s Julien Lousao and Vlad Paunic in the quarterfinals by an 8-6 count. The Tiger tandem’s momentum carried over in the semifinals as they defeated Piotr Banas and Arlen Domoney of Louisiana-Lafayette by an 8-5 count.

Tomorrow’s matches will be the final action for the Tigers for the fall season.
