BATON ROUGE — LSU junior forward Glen Davis, already on one of the regional covers in the annual Sporting News Basketball Preview Issue, is back in the magazine as one “revolutionary players” in the game of college basketball today.
Davis is featured in a full-page photo by staff photographer Bob Leverone in which he is displaying his size with the help of a miniature basketball in one hand and carrying a kids’ basketball goal over his shoulder.
Kyle Veltrop’s story on Davis begins with the line, “Go ahead, love Glen Davis.” That’s a phrase repeated through the article as it discussing Davis’ work over the summer on his game and his weight loss and his love of life. Davis said, “…But, really, anything can make me laugh. Life’s too short to be mad.”
To which Veltrop wrote, “Go ahead, love Glen Davis. Life’s too short not to.”
Sporting News ranks LSU sixth in its preseason poll.
Also at LSU this week, SI for Kids has been in town working on a February feature story on Glen Davis with a photo shoot scheduled later in the week.
