Baseball Game Rained Out, Re-scheduled

Women’s Golf Washed Out at Derby

AUBURN, Ala. — Persistent rains Thursday night and Friday left the Auburn University Club at Yarbrough Farms unplayable and the first round of the Auburn-Derby Classic was cancelled at mid-morning on Friday.

The tournament will now be a two-round, 36-hole affair beginning with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Live scoring for the event, once it gets underway can be found at www.golfstat.com. The final round will be play on Sunday.

The Lady Tigers were scheduled to begin play at 7:45 a.m. but by late Thursday the round had been moved back to a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. With rain falling at 9:30 a.m., the tournament was put on hold with hopes of starting by noon, but the continued rain left the course unplayable in several spots and the coaches elected not to wait and try to start the now-shortened event on Saturday morning.
