BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The LSU women’s tennis team finished a tough weekend of competition Sunday at the Indiana Hoosier Classic.
“We had a tough outing this weekend but we learned some things that we need to work on,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “It was nice to get our girls some more experience especially Ashley (Murdock) since she is only a freshman.”
Murdock and Tiffany Tucker were the only Lady Tigers to compete today as they teamed up for two doubles consolation matches.
In the duo’s first match, they fell behind early and could not get into a rhythm against Notre Dame’s Colleen Rielly and Kali Krisik, losing by an 8-2 count.
The Tiger tandem came out strong in their second match as they went to 7-all against Murray State’s Anna Lask and Rachael Lask. The Lady Tigers efforts were not enough as they lost the next two games to lose the match, 9-7.
The next time the Lady Tigers hit the courts will be at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational at Midland, Texas. The tournament will be held Oct. 13-15. Anastasiya Dubova, Hannah Robinson and Staten Spencer are the only Lady Tigers competing at the tournament.
