BATON ROUGE ? On the heels of Saturday’s 7-3 loss to Auburn, LSU dropped four spots from No. 6 to No. 10 in the Associated Press poll, which was released on Sunday afternoon.
LSU fell out the USA Today Coaches poll Top 10 for the first time this season on Sunday, dropping from No. 7 to No. 11.
The Tigers, now 2-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play, return to action on Saturday when they host Tulane at 7 p.m. in Tiger Stadium. The Tulane contest will serve as LSU’s Homecoming game this year.
Ohio State remained No. 1 in the nation in both polls, while Auburn moved to No. 2 in the in the AP poll and stayed at No. 3 in the coaches poll. Southern Cal holds down the No. 2 spot in the coaches poll and is No. 3 in the AP poll.
Other Southeastern Conference teams in the USA Today Coaches poll include Florida at No. 5, Georgia at No. 7, Tennessee at No. 19 and Alabama at No. 22.
