BATON ROUGE — The starting time of Tuesday’s LSU-Southern baseball game in Alex Box Stadium has been changed to 2:30 p.m. to avoid a conflict with the NCAA women’s basketball national championship game.
The baseball game was originally scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., but was moved to 2:30 p.m. due to the possibility that the LSU women’s basketball team could play in the NCAA title game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Should LSU defeat Duke on Sunday night, the Lady Tigers will play either North Carolina or Maryland for the national championship on Tuesday evening.
“We want to give all of our fans the best possible chance to see both the baseball game and, hopefully, LSU playing for a national championship on Tuesday,” said LSU baseball coach Smoke Laval.
If the Lady Tigers do not advance to the national championship game, the LSU-Southern baseball game will still be played at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
