ATHENS, Ga. — LSU senior Heather Brand was the lone Lady Tiger swimmer to participate on the second day of competition at the Women’s NCAA Championships from the Gabrielsen Natatorium.
Brand, a native of Harare, Zimbabwe, finished 41st in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.23 in the morning time trials.
LSU enters the final day of the meet in a tie for 29th place with Alabama as both teams have 12 points apiece. Defending national champion Georgia jumped into first place after being in third on Thursday. The Bulldogs lead second-place Auburn, 379-326. Arizona sits in third with 315 points.
Brand will join teammates Katherine Noland, Colleen Bertirotti and Katie Gilmore in the 400 freestyle relay, the final event of the meet on Saturday.
Noland, Bertirotti and Gilmore are also seeded in the 100 free. Time trials begin at 10 a.m. CST, followed by finals at 6 p.m. CST.
