BATON ROUGE — Two more double doubles and two more wins has LSU’s Glen Davis as the selection for the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week as announced by the league office on Monday.

Davis notched his sixth and seventh consecutive double doubles as LSU won at Vanderbilt on Wednesday, 77-66, and then at home Saturday against Kentucky, 71-67, to win the SEC Western Division for the second straight year and take a one-game lead in the quest for the overall regular season championship entering the final week of the season.

Davis led LSU with a 16 point, 11 rebound effort at Vanderbilt and against the Wildcats equaled his career high in scoring with 28 points and increased his league-leading rebound average to 10.0 with 15 boards.

Over the last seven games, all double doubles, Davis is averaging 20 points and 13.1 rebounds which has him a top the league in both rebounding and scoring (18.3 ppg).
