PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — LSU women’s tennis sophomores Anastasiya Dubova and Tiffany Tucker experienced a rough first day at the Southeastern Conference Coaches Classic at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.
The only two Lady Tigers in attendance this weekend, the pair competed in two doubles matches Thursday and failed to capture the victory in either.
They first fell to the 29th-ranked Ole Miss duo of Ilona Somers and Virginia Tomatis. They kept their second match closer, but eventually dropped an 8-6 decision to Kentucky’s Danielle Petrisko and Caroline Winebrenner.
Despite the losses, the pair has the opportunity to redeem itself in additional doubles matches taking place Friday. Singles play also begins Friday at 9 a.m. CST for both Dubova and Tucker. Doubles competition will follow.
