BATON ROUGE — LSU season ticket holders will begin receiving SEC Championship Game tickets by UPS overnight delivery on Tuesday, the LSU Athletic Ticket Office has announced.
LSU will play Georgia at 5 p.m. Central, 6 p.m. Eastern, in the SEC Championship Game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Saturday.
Over 24,000 tickets were requested by LSU season ticket holders, and LSU is allotted 16,150 tickets for the game, so LSU has instituted its distribution system used for post-season games when orders exceed tickets available.
Tickets for post-season games are allocated first to players, coaches, LSU students, LSU Athletic Department staff and University official party. Next, the Tiger Athletic Foundation receives an allocation to distribute to its season ticket holders based upon the TAF Priority Point System.
The next allocation of tickets goes to season ticket holders who currently are not members of the TAF and/or TAF ticket holders who did not receive tickets through the TAF allotment. Because requests to the SEC Championship Game exceeded tickets available, a lottery has been used to determine distribution in this category.
LSU will notify season ticket holders via e-mail by the end of the day Sunday about the status of their ticket order.
Tickets will be delivered by UPS overnight delivery beginning Tuesday. One delivery attempt will be made, and any returned tickets will be held at the LSU Ticket Will Call window.
Also, all tickets with a post office box address will be held at Will Call, as well as many addresses in hurricane-affected areas. LSU will not attempt to send tickets to addresses in the following Zip Codes in hurricane-affected areas: 70032, 70040, 70043, 70044, 70075, 70082, 70085, 70092, 70117, 70119, 70122, 70124-70129, 70145, 70146, 70148, 70149, 70159, 70167, 70177-70179, 70182, 70184-70187, 70189, 70643, 70645.
Any tickets that are not delivered will be available for pickup at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Remaining tickets will be available for pickup at the Georgia Dome at the South Box Office on Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until halftime of the game.
