COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The LSU women’s tennis team closed out play in the Wilson-ITA Southwest Regionals on Monday with a few tough losses.
Camila Caliari and Lauren Seaman, the Lady Tigers’ only remaining competitors in the consolation singles draw, both lost matches Monday morning.
Caliari fell to SMU’s Jennifer Chay, 6-3, 6-2, and Seaman came up short to Tiffany Lee of Rice, 7-5, 6-3.
Seaman and doubles partner Tiffany Tucker also dropped their match to Texas Tech’s Janet Durham and Sophie Frankam, 8-5.
“We played pretty well in this tournament overall and have a lot of things we can take from it,” head coach Tony Minnis said. “We look forward our next tournament, which is a great preview before the Southeastern Conference season.”
The Lady Tigers have two weekends off before playing in their final tournament of the fall. They travel to Peachtree City, Ga., for the SEC Coaches Classic beginning Nov. 10.
