MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The LSU men’s tennis team rebounded from a rough second day at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships by sweeping all of its matches Saturday.
Ken Skupski played with freshman James Cluskey, who replaced Mark Growcott, Skupki’s normal doubles partner. The pair squeaked by Alabama’s Andrew Felsentahl and Joseph Jung, 9-8, in their first match, before defeating Christopher Rea and Bramton Berge, 8-6, to advance to the quarterfinals.
The Tiger tandem of Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston also advanced to the quarterfinals, Friday. The duo defeated Alabama’s Dan Buikema and Sammy Sturyf, 8-3, and Anze Cevka and Martin Steigwart, of Georgia State 8-6.
Skupski and Cluskey will face Alex Jago and James Spence of Memphis on Sunday. Bryan and Gaston will play Eric Claesson and Erling Tveit of Ole Miss.
