BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. — The LSU Lady Tiger golf team remained in second place after two rounds of the Lady Gamecock Invitational at the South Carolina University Club.
The Tigers followed Friday’s 309 with a 316 score to stand at 49-over 625 after two rounds, four shots better than leader New Mexico at 45-over after shooting a 315. Host South Carolina is three more shots back at 52-over 628 in third.
Kailin Downs of New Mexico is the individual leader at four-over 148 after a one-over round of 73 in the second round. Melissa Eaton shot a four-over 76 in the second round for LSU and is in a tie for fourth in the individual standings at 11-over 153 (77-76). The Tigers would count three 80s on the afternoon from Kimberly Meck, Rebecca Kuhn and Vicky Meyer in the high-scoring conditions.
Meck and Kuhn are both in a tie for seventh seed.
The tournament runs through Sunday before LSU comes home to host the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic at the LSU University Club in Baton Rouge, March 18-20.
