BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Brandon Bass was selected first team and Glen Davis second team on the 2005 All-District teams as selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and announced on Friday.
The two LSU selections were part of District 8 which includes Division I schools in Louisiana and Arkansas.
Sophomore Bass, of Baton Rouge, received first-team honors one day after being chosen a member of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team. Baton Rouge freshman, Davis, was chosen to the five-member second team.
Joining Bass on the first team were Paul Millsap of Louisiana Tech, Bo McCaleb of New Orleans, Tiras Wade of Louisiana Lafayette and Nate Lofton of Southeastern Louisiana. With Davis on the second team were: Dewarick Spencer and J. J. Montgomery of Arkansas State, Brandon Freeman of Arkansas-Little Rock and Ricky Woods of Southeastern Louisiana.
The all-district teams were selected and voted on by members of the NABC and the 150 athletes from the 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-American team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2004-05 NCAA men’s basketball season.
