Wantz Victorious Again on Day Two at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Senior All-American Jessica Wantz was victorious for the second consecutive day, winning the 3-meter to cap day two of the Texas A&M Invitational.

Wantz, who won the 1-meter on Friday, captured the event with a finals score of 479.25 after recording a mark of 507.95 in the preliminaries. She won by a margin of 23.95 points over SMU’s Liz Pike. Hali Saucier placed sixth in the event with a score of 394.20.

In men’s diving, Niko Dalman continued his early season success earning third-place honors with a score 286.95, while Adam Hebert finished fifth.

Freshman Miko Malberg qualified for the finals of the 100 butterfly and finished fifth with a time of 51.75, improving on his preliminary mark. Jared Strecker also swam in the “A” final of that event and took seventh (52.29).

Christian Clausen got a chance to shine in an event he dominated late last season. Clausen qualified for the “A” final of the 100 breaststroke and was the Tigers highest finisher in swimming events all day, taking third place with a season-best time of 56.90.
