BATON ROUGE, La. — All-American Nicole Toney posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the long jump Friday, highlighting the Tigers strong performance in their last meet before the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Toney won the long jump with a leap of 20-9 1/4. Her jump puts her 8th on the NCAA performance list and 7th on the LSU indoor all-time performance list.

“It’s real nice when you have a small meet with not a lot of competitors, and the people who need to contribute perform,” said LSU Assistant Coach Kent Pagel.

Lolo Jones finished first in the 60-meter dash finishing with a provisional time of 7.38. The time puts her 19th on the NCAA performance list and is her seasonal best in the 60-meter dash.

RaNysha LeBlanc tied her best time in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.29. Katie McKeever had a season best throw with a mark of 51-3 1/2, placing second in the shot put.

Mallory McDonald won the weight throw with a throw of 62-5 3/4, and Brittney Henry tied her best throw with a mark of 59-2 3/4.

For the men, Paul Thompson finished first in the long jump posting a provisional qualifying mark in the long jump leaping 24-11 3/4, which is also his personal record.

In the shot put Joe Lochridge finished third with a seasonal best throw of 56-3 1/4, and Matt Vincent won the weight throw with a distance of 55-2 3/4.

LSU will have athletes competing Saturday at the Iowa State Last Chance Meet, and then the Tigers go on to the NCAA Indoor Championships.
