BATON ROUGE — Two members of the LSU men’s basketball team were announced as members of the District 8 All-District teams announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, the 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All- American team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2003-04 NCAA men’s basketball season.
Making the first team in District 8 from LSU is senior forward Jaime Lloreda. The native of Panama is leading the team in scoring at 17.2 points per game and is the nation’s number two rebounder at 11.6 boards a game. On the District 8 second team is Baton Rouge freshman forward Brandon Bass. Bass is averaging 13.0 points a game and is the league leader among freshman in scoring and rebounding.
Along with Lloreda on the District 8 first team are Andrew Wisniewski of Centenary, Amir Abdur-Rahim of Southeastern Louisiana, Paul Millsap of Louisiana Tech and Jermaine Wallace of Northwestern State.
With Bass on the second team are Nate Lofton of Southeastern Louisiana, Johnell Smith of New Orleans, Paul Haynes of Grambling and J. J. Montgomery of Arkansas State.
