BATON ROUGE — Louisiana’s Governor-elect Kathleen Blanco took a few minutes out of her busy schedule on Tuesday to stop by the LSU football practice here on the LSU campus.
Blanco was introduced to the team by LSU Chancellor Dr. Mark Emmert and she the spoke to the squad for a few minutes at LSU’s Indoor Practice Facility.
Among the things she told the team was how proud she was of them and how pleased and excited they have made the state of Louisiana. She also told the team that she was not only proud of them for what they had accomplished on the field, but also for the things they have done in the classroom as well as the community.
Following her talk to the team, Blanco was then presented with an LSU game jersey by team captains Matt Mauck, Michael Clayton and Rodney Reed.
The Tigers went through their final practice before Christmas on Tuesday as the team will now take the next four days off before reporting to New Orleans at noon on Sunday. Dec. 28.
