HOUSTON — LSU’s Paul White disposed of Rice’s Alex Navinkov in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, on Sunday in the final day of competition at the 2002 Continental Airlines Cup hosted by Rice University.
White’s victory came just minutes before a rain storm deluged Kingwood Country Club and washed out the remainder of the tournament. LSU’s freshman from Lake Charles owns a 2-1 overall record on the season.
The LSU men’s tennis team will next be in action on Oct. 4, as the Tigers head to Chattanooga, Tenn., for the prestigious All-American Championships.
