Offense Addresses Media as Sugar Bowl Nears

NEW ORLEANS — The LSU football team conducted its fourth workout in preparation for Tuesday’s Sugar Bowl tilt with Big Ten champion Illinois on Saturday.

The team arrived at the Superdome just before noon before going through a 90-minute workout. After one period of individual drills, the Tigers immediately jumped into team drills with particular emphasis on 9-on-7 drills and the two-minute offense.

The Tigers concluded practice with special teams drills, as kicker John Corbello worked on his timing with new holder Michael Clayton, who will be filling in for Blain Bech against Illinois.

After practice offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher met with the media to discuss LSU’s record-setting offense and its game plan against Illinois.

Afterwards LSU offensive standouts Rohan Davey, Josh Reed, Rodney Reed, Domanick Davis and Robert Royal met with reporters to discuss LSU’s vaunted offensive attack.

The Tigers will have their final major workout on Sunday at noon. Selected members of the Tigers will meet with the media following practice in the final player press conference prior to the Sugar Bowl. In addition, the Tigers will have the opportunity to attend Sunday evening’s nationally televised tilt between the New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins.

The Tigers will go through a walk-though at the Superdome on Monday before taking on the Fighting Illini on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. CT.
