BATON ROUGE — The LSU swimming and diving team remained ranked in the College Swim Coaches Association of America Top 25 poll for the fourth straight week, as the latest poll was released on Dec. 13.
“We are pleased to be ranked among the top 25 teams in the country at this point in our season”, said LSU head coach Jeff Cavana. “This is really a tribute to how hard all of our athletes have worked so far this season.”
The Tiger men are currently ranked 23rd and the women are 24th. Stanford is ranked number one in both the men’s and women’s polls. Florida’s men are ranked 14th, which is LSU’s next opponent. Florida and LSU will face off in a men’s only meet on Jan. 17 at Baton Rouge, The Tigers next meet of the season. LSU will then compete against Texas A&M on Jan. 18, also in Baton Rouge. Texas A&M is currently ranked 19th in the poll.
LSU last competed at the 2001 Nike Cup Invitational at Chapel Hill, N.C., from Nov. 15-17. 10 LSU athletes achieved NCAA “B” Qualifying Standards at the meet.
