Men’s Basketball Signs Second Player

BATON ROUGE — LSU men’s basketball coach John Brady announced that national letter of intent papers had been received Friday from Tim Bush of Shaw High School in New Orleans, La.

Bush, a 6-6, 240 pound forward for Shaw, averaged 15 points and eight rebounds for Shaw and Coach Shawn Lebouf. But his stock improved tremendously over the summer with several outstanding performances. Shaw was the most valuable player in the Michael Jordan camp in Santa Barbara, Calif., and was among the top 10 prospects cited at the Great American Shootout in Denton, Texas.

Ron Brisco of the Regional Basketball Report said on Friday that he has Bush listed as the No. 1 player in Louisiana and the 29th player in the South.

“We are very excited that Tim Bush has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball with LSU,” said LSU Coach John Brady. “He brings a tough, physical and competitive attitude to us that is important for success at this level. He understands winning, having accomplished that at Shaw and has been extremely well-coached throughout his high school career. To be able to sign a player of his caliber out of Shaw High School in New Orleans is another step our program is taking in the right direction and another major step in solidifying our program as our scholarships return.”

The Tigers signed Jaime Lloredo, 6-8, 240 pounds, of Dixie State College in St. George, Utah, on Wednesday.
