WICHITA, Kan. — LSU senior golfer Meredith Duncan put herself in good position to make match play after the first round of qualifying in the 101st United States Women’s Amateur Golf Championships at the Flint Hills National Golf Club.

Playing on a day when the temperature topped out at 102 degrees, Duncan of Shreveport, is tied for second play after a 1-under round of 70 on the par 71 course.
