STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — The LSU women’s tennis team struggled on the opening day of the 2000 SEC Coaches Fall Classic on Friday at the Lincoln Tennis Center in Stone Mountain, Ga.
LSU’s doubles team of Tami Botts and Lauren Haddix were the only Lady Tigers to advance on day one, beating Vanderbilt’s Lauren Rose and Kori Scott, 8-3, in the first round of the Flight “B” Doubles draw.
Botts and Haddix will face Ole Miss’ Camilla Gould and Alesya Ignatieva on Saturday in the second round.
Elsewhere, the Lady Tigers’ other doubles combination, Kelly Craycraft and Amy McIlhaney, will try to stay alive in the tournament when they play in the second round of the Flight “B” Consolation bracket on Saturday.
