GAINESVILLE, Fla. — After Friday night’s game was postponed due to rain, the LSU baseball team took a twin bill from the Florida Gators Saturday afternoon and evening, 10-4 and 9-6, in Gainesville, Fla.
With the pair of wins, LSU improved to 29-10 on the season including a Western Division leading 12-4 in Southeastern Conference play. Florida fell to 27-16-1 overall and 9-7-1 in the SEC.
LSU leads Auburn by two games in the SEC West.
LSU’s Hunter Gomez remained undefeated on the season, 6-0, in game one while Brian Tallet won game two and improved to 8-2.
The Tigers will attempt to sweep the weekend series Sunday when the two teams square off at 12:30 p.m. CDT. Jason Scobie will start his first game as Tiger against Florida’s left hander Craig Mosher
