SHREVEPORT, La. — The LSU baseball team traveled to Shreveport to pick up its eighth win in nine games, 6-3, over Centenary Tuesday night at Fairgrounds Field.
Centenary reliever Ralph Hicks held LSU scoreless in the final four innings to keep the game tight throughout.
LSU starting pitcher Billy Brian picked up the win after pitching four scheduled innings.
The Tigers (19-9 overall, 5-3 SEC) benefited from three Gent errors in the fourth inning to take a 5-1 lead and hold on for the victory.
The Tigers return to Southeastern Conference action this weekend in a three-game series against Auburn beginning Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Friday night’s game was moved back one hour from 6:30 p.m.
