Chris Brandi joined his father Andy Brandi, one of the most successful coaches in the history of collegiate tennis, at the helm of the LSU men’s tennis program as co-head coach prior to the 2017-18 season.

In his first season directing the LSU men’s tennis program, Chris Brandi helped the Tigers collect two SEC victories on its way to a 10-16 record overall.

In his second season as co-head coach, Brandi led LSU to a top 20 ranking and flipped the Tigers record to 16-10, collecting three SEC victories. Brandi also helped LSU achieve the No. 14 ranked recruiting class, the highest in the programs history.

Prior to joining the LSU staff, Chris Brandi was privately coaching in Florida from 2011-2017. He coached in both the junior and professional ranks and has worked with players including Elena Dementieva, ranked No. 4 in the WTA, and 2005 U.S. Open Junior Champion Ryan Sweeting.

He has also worked with Vera Dushevina and Laura Granville who were ranked in the WTA’s Top 35. The Boca Raton, Florida, native has also served as a coach for players who have won junior championships in elite events such as the Orange Bowl as well as collegiate All-Americas and Top 100 professionals.

From 2009-2011, Chris Brandi served as the assistant director of tennis and assistant tennis coach at Baylor. He went to Waco, Texas, after a year as the assistant men’s tennis coach at Wake Forest.

Prior to his time at Wake Forest, Chris Brandi worked at the Harold Solomon Tennis Institute in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he was a hitting partner for the USA Federation Cup.

Chris Brandi played in the 2011 Davis Cup and won two singles matches to help Puerto Rico clinch its first Group 2 win in more than 15 years.

Before transferring to Florida, where he was an All-American in doubles in 2004 and All-SEC singles in 2005, Chris Brandi started his collegiate career at TCU.

In his four seasons with the Gators, Chris Brandi was coached by Andy Jackson and helped Florida claim the SEC regular season and tournament titles in 2005. Florida went on to reach the NCAA National Semifinals in 2005.

During his college career, Chris Brandi finished ranked No. 83 in the ITA national singles rankings, recorded an 80-39 overall record, notched a 52-17 dual singles record and won 22 SEC matches. He was also named to the All-SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2004 and 2005.

Chris Brandi graduated cum laude from the University of Florida in 2005 with a degree in business administration.
