JUNIOR SEASON (1999-2000): Recorded the Lady Tigers fastest times of the season in both the 50 and 100-yard backstroke events… Competed at the Southeastern Conference Championships in both the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events, as well as the 50-yard freestyle competition… Placed 13th in the 100 backstroke, 23rd in the 200 backstroke, and 34th in the 50 freestyle… Finished the season with LSUs third-best time in the 200 backstroke competition with a time of 2:07.59… Member of the SEC Womens Swimming and Diving Honor Roll with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in psychology… Co-winner of the Lady Tigers Academic Award… Member of the Lady Tigers top 200-yard medley relay team of the season which swam a time of 1:44.93… Earned her third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (1998-99): Placed 11th at the SEC Championships in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.71, and finished 18th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.02… Second on the team in the 100-yard backstroke and fifth on the team in the 200 backstroke… Named to the All-SEC Academic Team… Member of the GTE Academic All-District VI Fall/Winter At-Large Team… Psychology Club President… President of National Psychology Honor Society… Earned her second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (1997-98): Had a good showing in the backstroke events during her freshman season… Won the team Academic Award… First on the team in the 100-yard backstroke event… One of seven freshmen to make the SEC Championship travel squad… Qualified for the consolation final of the 100-yard backstroke, as she swam the preliminaries in 57.81… Also competed in the 200-yard backstroke at the SEC Championships… Earned her first varsity letter.
Prior to LSU: Eight-time Junior National Qualifier… Individual State Champion in the 100-yard backstroke both her junior and senior seasons… Voted the 1996 All-Sun County Swimmer of the Year… Listed in Who’s Who in High School Sports and in Who’s Who Among High School Students… Region 8 Champion during her sophomore season… Helped lead Blue Valley Northwest High School to three consecutive state titles and four consecutive district titles… A two-sport athlete in both swimming and cross country… Earned U.S. Swimming Academic All-America honors… Member of the National Honor Society… Kansas Honor scholar… Poetry has been published in two publications.
