JUNIOR SEASON (1999-2000): Member of the Tigers relay team which set LSUs all-time record of 1:28.18 in the 200-yard medley relay competition at the Texas A&M Aggie Invitational… Competed at the Southeastern Conference Championships in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events… Placed ninth in the 100 freestyle and 13th in the 50-yard freestyle… Swam the SECs 10th-fastest time of the season in the 100-yard freestyle event with a 44.06… Recorded the Tigers fastest times of the season in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events… Member of all five of LSUs top relay teams of the season, including the 200 (1:28.18) and 400-yard (3:15.60) medley events, the 200 (1:20.48) and 400-yard (2:58.39) freestyle competitions, as well as the 800 (6:39.27) freestyle relay… Recorded LSUs second-fastest time of the season in the 200 freestyle event… Won the LSU Clutch Performer Award which was voted on by both his teammates and the Tiger coaching staff… Earned his second varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (1998-99): Member of the relay team that set the school record in the 400-yard medley competition… Qualified to compete at the NCAA Championships in the freestyle events… NCAA All-American in the 400-yard freestyle relay event… Finished in the top eight at the SEC Championships in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events… First on the team in the 50-yard freestyle and second in the 100-yard freestyle… Earned his first varsity letter.
Prior to LSU: Placed sixth at the state meet in the 50-yard freestyle… Member of the Junior College National Championship team at Indian River JC… Placed second in the 50-yard freestyle, third in the 100-yard butterfly, and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle events at the NJCAA National Championships… Named an All-American his senior year… The only four-year swimming letterman in his class.
