PRIOR TO LSU
Played two years at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas … Was a football wide receiver, a long jumper and high jumper in high school and earned District and regional MVP honors and all-state in high school … At Thibodaux, he was the District 8-5A MVP and honorable mention Class 5A all-state team member as a senior … Averaged 28 points and 13 rebounds per game as a high school senior leading Thibodaux to the District 8-5A championship … As a junior, he averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds a game and again was honorable mention all-state … He was a first-team selection on the (Houma) Courier and (Thibodaux) Daily Comet’s All-Region team in 2009 and 2010 … This past year at Howard, averaged 14.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists … He made 44 percent of his field goal attempts in his second season at Howard … Coleman had 22 points and 13 rebounds in a loss in the Regional V Championship game.
