BATON ROUGE, La. – Registration for the Third Annual Tiger 10K is open online now at www.Tiger10K.com. The event, which features a 10K, 5K and a Kids Mile, will take place Sunday, December 8, at the south gates of Tiger Stadium.
The first 500 runners to register for the 10K and first 500 runners to register for the 5K all receive a special registration rate.
The event is a production of FRESHJUNKIE RACING in cooperation with LSU Athletics. Our Lady of The Lake has signed on as the title sponsor of the event that provides a unique LSU experience and encourages a healthy and active lifestyle.
Thousands of runners, joggers and walkers will enjoy a scenic tour of the LSU campus as they pass many of its historic landmarks including the University Lakes, Sorority Row, the Parade Ground, the Bell Tower and the Indian Mounds all before finishing in the shadows of Tiger Stadium.
Upon crossing the finish line all participants will be awarded a commemorative finishers’ medal featuring the classic Mike the Tiger logo that adorns the football helmets.
This year’s race will finish outside the stadium as renovations originally scheduled for last fall are planned to take place at the end of this football season. This year’s event will still have all the tradition, pomp and circumstance associated with LSU football.
All participants will receive a commemorative shirt, finishers’ medal, chip timing, and the opportunity to enjoy the post-race party, which will take place near the finish line. The party will feature food, beer, live music and a tailgating ambiance that is uniquely LSU.
