BATON ROUGE — One of five teams to earn Easton Cover Team of the Year honors, the LSU softball team was also one of five programs to earn Easton School of the Year honors, as selected by the Easton Sports organization.
As a program, LSU joined fellow Southeastern Conference schools Alabama and Florida, along with Hawai’i in being named the 2007 Eason Sports Schools of the Year. The honor is the second for the Tigers in the 11-year history of the program, which also earned the award in 2004.
In addition, the LSU media guide cover garnered Easton Cover Team of the Year honors along with Illinois State, Creighton, San Diego and Tulsa. This is the first Cover Team of the Year honor in the program’s history.
