BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — LSU senior diver Hali Saucier has been named to the 2007 Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Good Works Team for her community service efforts, the league office announced.

Saucier, a native of Gig Harbor, Wash., was one of six athletes who made the list out of the conference. Other members include Alabama’s Karissa Tuthill, Arkansas’ Kristen Thibodeaux, Auburn’s Kristen Hastrup, Georgia’s Clair Maust and Tennessee’s Ashley Yeager.

Saucier has combined excellence on the boards with achievement in the community and classroom during her brilliant career. She has been an active participant of the CHAMPS Life Skills program, reading to children, conducting toy drives and organizing the department’s Halloween BOOzar from 2003-06.

During her spring break of 2006, Saucier participated in a week-long mission trip to Mexico with her church. She has also served as a volunteer in the emergency room for the Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Saucier has a 3.95 grade point average, majoring in kinesiology. She was the Tiger Athletic Foundation LSU Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2005-06 and a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Last month, Saucier served as LSU’s nominee for the SEC’s Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship.
