BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team held its spot at No. 13 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released Tuesday.
The Tigers (13-4, 5-3 SEC) split their matches this past weekend. On Friday, LSU fell to Ole Miss, 4-3, and defeated Mississippi State, 6-1, on Sunday.
Along with LSU, other Southeastern Conference teams listed in the top 25 include Georgia (No. 1), Ole Miss (No. 7), Alabama (No. 12), Florida (No. 18) and Tennessee (No. 22.)
In individual rankings, the Tigers still list three singles players and two doubles teams. Senior Ken Skupski maintained his spot at No. 24. The two-time All-American is one win away from tying head coach Jeff Brown for fourth place on the LSU career win list with 100 wins.
Senior Danny Bryan jumped up 10 spots to No. 34. The New Orleans native leads the Tigers with 22 wins this season.
Junior Kevin Dessauer also jumped in the rankings as he moved up to No. 76.
Even though they have only lost once in their last 30 matches, Bryan and Colt Gaston dropped two spots in the doubles rankings to No. 7. The Tiger tandem’s only loss during that stretch came against the No. 1 ranked duo of Georgia’s John Isner and Luis Flores.
James Cluskey and Skupski are listed at No. 19. The doubles pair has won 17 matches this season.
The Tigers return home Friday to face the No. 12-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide at 4 p.m.
