Lady Tigers Dunning to Transfer

BATON ROUGE — LSU women’s basketball head coach Van Chancellor announced on Friday that forward Ayana Dunning will be transferring from the program.

“We never like to see a player leave our program, but we respect Ayana’s decision in doing what’s best for her,” Chancellor said. “I enjoyed coaching her for one season and she played well after coming off knee surgery last summer. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors in basketball and getting an education.”

Dunning, a native of Columbus, Ohio, played in 23 games with nine starts for the Lady Tigers. She averaged 5.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 13.7 minutes per contest as a true freshman. Dunning entered her first season at LSU after undergoing surgery to her left knee in the summer of 2008.
