BATON ROUGE — In celebration of Earth Day on Wednesday, LSU soccer freshman Mo Isom was invited to spend the afternoon at St. Isidore Catholic School in Baton Rouge and speak to the students on the importance of preserving the land in which we live.
Isom, who earned Freshman All-America honors in 2008 after leading the Tigers to their second-straight SEC Western Division crown and trip to the NCAA Tournament, said she appreciated the invitation and the students at St. Isidore seemed very receptive to the message.
“The kids really seemed to enjoy the message and already knew so much about recycling and our renewable resources,” Isom said. “It was great to get the chance to read to them and talk to them about our planet. Traveling around the world playing soccer has given me the chance to see how truly beautiful our Earth really is and how important it is that we take care of it.”
