HOUSTON — The LSU volleyball team compiled a 2-1-1 weekend with sweeps over UTSA and Texas State Saturday at the Texas Tornadoes College Invitational.
The Tigers dropped a hard-fought 2-1 decision to 2008 Final Four participant Texas and split a pair of sets against Colorado.
“We took another step forward with a very productive weekend,” head coach Fran Flory said. “I thought we executed the things we worked on in practice leading up to the tournament. Sam Dabbs did a nice job of running our offense and our middles had another outstanding tournament. Marina Skender continues to be impressive coming off of her knee injury.”
After a week off for spring break, the four-time defending SEC Western Division champions return to action on the sand in Siesta Key, Fla. at the SEC Coaches Beach Championships on April 18.
