GONZALES, La. — LSU women’s golfer Melissa Eaton posted rounds of 69-65 at the Pelican Point Golf Club to take the 36-hole lead in the Collegiate Players Tour stop on Tuesday.
Eaton stands at 134 (10-under) entering Wednesday’s final round, four shots ahead of Hillary Ziegler of Beaumont, Texas (68-70 — 138). Eaton’s twin sister, Nicola, is in fourth place at two-under 142 (72-70).
The South African twins will be seniors on this year’s golf team at LSU. Melissa led the team in stroke average as a junior and helped the Lady Tigers to their first NCAA Championship appearance since 2001 last month.
