BATON ROUGE — LSU pitcher Chase Dardar has signed a free-agent deal with the Colorado Rockies and will join the Tri-City Dust Devils, the Rockies’ single-A affiliate in Pasco, Wash.
Dardar, a senior right-hander from Marrero, La., pitched two seasons at LSU after transferring from Delgado Community College in New Orleans.
Dardar worked as the Tigers’ closer this season, recording a 6-3 mark in 20 appearances with a 3.19 ERA and four saves. He worked 36.2 innings and limited opponents to a .218 batting average.
Dardar was a member of the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, and he graduated from LSU last month with a general studies degree.
He was also named second-team all-Louisiana this season by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association.
