BATON ROUGE — LSU athletics director Skip Bertman will appear tonight on ESPN2 during the network’s telecast of the College World Series from Omaha, Neb.
Bertman is scheduled to be interviewed during tonight’s Miami (Fla.)-Oregon State game, which begins at 8 p.m. CT. He will discuss the opening of the new College Baseball Hall of Fame in Lubbock, Texas.
Bertman, who guided LSU to five national championships during his 18-year coaching career, is one of 10 members of the first Hall of Fame induction class. The others are legendary coaches Bobby Winkles of Arizona State, Ron Fraser of Miami, Cliff Gustafson of Texas and Rod Dedeaux of USC, in addition to standout former players Bob Horner of Arizona State, Robin Ventura of Oklahoma State, Dave Winfield of Minnesota, Will Clark of Mississippi State and Brooks Kieschnick of Texas.
The class will participate in the formal Hall of Fame induction ceremonies July 3-4 in Lubbock.
