MINNEAPOLIS — Seimone Augustus, the most decorated women’s basketball player in LSU history and the WNBA’s No. 1 pick of the 2006 draft, matched a career-high with 32 points on Sunday to lead the Minnesota Lynx to a win over Phoenix.

Augustus, a Baton Rouge native and the 2005 and 2006 NCAA National Player of the Year at LSU, poured in 32 points to lead the Lynx to a 94-82 victory. It was the second time she scored 32 during the week, having also reached the career-high total against Seattle on Wednesday.

Through 11 games of the season, Augustus ranks second in the league in scoring with 23.0 points per game. She trails Phoenix’s Diana Taurasi (25.2 ppg). Augustus is tops in the league in field goals made, field goals attempted and total points.

The Lynx are 5-6 this season and sit three-games behind first-place Los Angeles in the Western Conference standings.

Augustus and the Lynx take to the court again on Thursday at Connecticut.
